If you’ve been following our instagram feed over the last week you may have noticed a wee change of scenery for us- as we took a trip to Berlin for a few days!
After arriving at noon and getting seriously lost on the U-Bahn, we checked into The Michelberger Hotel- which was to be our home from home for the next 4 days. The Michelberger was recommended to us via the good folks of Twitter- and we can confirm that it is an awesome place to stay. The rooms are cool and the vibe in bar & restaurant is super relaxed and very welcoming. Just how we like it!
We did a TONNE of stuff during the time we were there- and here are some of our best bits:
Snapping photos at Berlin’s Photoautomat booths. These old-school analogue instant photo shacks were hands-down my favourite thing about Berlin. I wish we had one of these in Scotland- I think they’d be a big hit!
We were lucky enough to catch the C-O Gallery closing party in Mitte. We queued for an hour in the snow to get in to what was to be the biggest thing happening in the city that night. Berlin’s creative community are dedicated!
It’s no secret that I am a total stationary addict- and there was no way I was leaving Berlin without a pilgrimage to R.S.V.P. I left with a mini haul (see below) however if I’d had any more space in my bag I know I’d have cleared its (very neatly and thoughtfully arranged) shelves!
We also enjoyed doing a great deal of hanging out in the city’s many great cafés and bars. The East (Mitte & Freidrichshain) were our favourites- and they were packed with loads of great spots to stop and shelter from Berlin’s winterous weather with a hot drink or two.
Thank you, Berlin- this will not be the last time you see us!
