At Home With: Oh No Rachio

We always love seeing where our cushions end up. Everyone has their own style when it comes to their home- and it’s lovely to see how our biscuit cushions fit in with such an eclectic selection of interior ilks. With that in mind, we’ve decided to launch a new regular feature on our blog- celebrating the interior style of Biscuit Cushion lovers across the globe!

We’re beginning with Rachel, of Oh No Rachio. Rachel is the creator of beautifully simple typography & nature inspired illustrated ceramics & stationery- as well as being the proud owner of a pair of our Biscuit Cushions! We caught up with Rachel to find out a little more about her passion for mid century design, buying handmade and plants!

Tell us about you- what do you do on a daily basis?

I’m a full-time designer maker based in {sometimes} sunny Southampton where I work from my home studio space. I make and sell a range of hand illustrated ceramics, stationery and gifts which I sell through my shop {store.ohnorachio.com}. I also run a little blog which is filled with lots of recipes, health & fitness posts, DIY craft projects, and sneaky pesky product updates too!

Which of our Biscuit Cushions do you own and are they your favourite biscuits to eat?

I own just 2 lovely biscuit cushions  – the Dark Chocolate Tunnocks Teacake & the little Custard Cream though I have lusted after the Caramel cushion for as long as I can remember {one day it WILL be mine!} and also the Chocolate Digestive too! I can’t get enough!

My favourite ever biscuit has to be the Viennese Finger – we used to get a Marks & Spencer biscuit selection tin from my grandparents every Christmas, I used to dive for those and also the thin circular biscuits that were half coated in dark chocolate and sprinkled with coconut –  not sure what they are called but oh MY do I love them!

How would you describe your style when it comes to interiors?

I’m a BIG lover of mid century design, and my home reflects that. I’m especially fond of Ercol’s mid century furniture – we have their iconic studio couch and pebble tables in our lounge as well as a few other pieces we inherited from my parents! In the studio I have an original G-Plan dresser that stores all of my materials which was my grandma’s {she had great taste!}.

I tend to find strong vintage pieces that I love and build the rest of the room around them, mixing in modern pieces {gotta love Ikea!} a TON of plants and little vintage homewares that I’ve collected over the years and handmade pieces I’ve bought from other British independent makers!

What’s on your current interiors wishlist?

I can’t wait until we eventually are able to buy a ‘proper’ house – I have an interiors wish list as long as my arm, as well as a heap of room specific {maybe a tad sad I know!} Pinterest boards {pinterest.com/ohnorachio} chock full of inspiration I intend to one day draw on!
