At the end of week I was invited to Pinterest‘s London HQ to help them celebrate their UK office’s 2nd Birthday. The party was Fiesta themed- so I whipped up a fun DIY activity for party goers to dabble with while they sipped margaritas and munched nachos: Bold, embellished cactus cosies!
The rooftop of Pinterest’s East London offices were decked our with pallet furniture and lots of cacti and succulents- ready for Fiesta DIY fun!

One crafter’s amazing rainbow fabric planter- just in time for Pride weekend!
The afternoon kicked off just after 3pm- and our little table filled up with eager Fiesta crafters straight away! I was super chuffed to bump into the lovely Allison Sadler (fellow Mollie Makes Handmade Awards winner!) Viktorija from And Smile Studio as well as Diana from Pygmy Cloud, who stopped by for some DIY fun.
The Pinterest team had chosen some brilliant refreshments for the afternoon- including these delicious Mezcal Mojitos by the Travelling Gin Co. and this superb rainbow sprinkle cake (which was actually bursting with mini smarties when it was cut- which caused what can only be described as an instagram cake stampede!)
The icing on the Fiesta cake (apart from the actual rainbow sprinkle icing) had to be the Mariachi band- who played a mixture of traditional Mexican classics as well as some fun covers of pop culture favourites. My personal picks had to include their Gypsy Kings medley and a cover of Oasis’ Don’t Look Back in Anger. Genius.
The sun shone for the whole afternoon- and for all we knew- we were in Mexico (I even got a little bit sun burnt!). It was lovely to be asked to join Pinterest for their Fiesta festivities- Pinterest has become a part of our business’s daily routine- so it was super fun to be able to toast their special day with them.
Oh wow Nikki, it looked like such a fun day! I bet Pineterest HQ is a cool little place! Loved the piñata cake, what a cool idea – I’ve yet to make one but love the idea of the surprise inside. xx
